The PUD Education Programs are offered for the citizens of Kitsap County to educate them about our precious water resources. Issues of water quality and quantity and solutions to non-point pollution in the local watersheds are highlighted. The focus is on how our actions affect the water resources in our watershed. Suggestions for practices and volunteer activities that will ensure a continued supply of clean water are given. There are community workshops for adults and programs for children including Junior Water Watchers and the Water Festival. Individual presentations or field trips on non-point pollution solutions, water wise gardening, groundwater model, stream insects as indicators of water quality and water story telling are available.
Groundwater and watershed models are available to borrow from our office. Curriculum, books and video tapes are also available.
Call or e-mail Debbie Thomas, Education Department, at (360) 626-7723 for more info.
