Strawberry Hill (Port Orchard) – Water System Project Update

Water System: Strawberry Hill (Port Orchard)
Dates: See Below
Time: 7:00a.m. - 5:00p.m., daily

KPUD is installing water treatment infrastructure (filtration system) on the Strawberry Hill Water System. Once complete, the new filtration system will reduce levels of iron and manganese in your drinking water.

There are several items that must be done by KPUD prior to the filtration going online. We do not anticipate a water outage, however there is potential for customers serviced by the system to have low water pressure and experience discolored water once flushing begins. Experiencing some discolored water and decreased pressure during flushing is normal. Please contact us if you lose water completely. Want to know more about water flushing? Visit the Flushing FAQs page.

Schedule of Operations – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • July 10
KPUD will repair a valve at the well site. We do not anticipate interruption in water service during this time, but you may experience low water pressure. After the repair is complete, we will flush the system.
  • July 17
Filtration system goes online. As a requirement of the system, chlorine levels will be increased significantly to optimize the filtration process. You will notice a change in your water (taste and smell).
  • July 18
    KPUD will flush water mains.
  • July 19
KPUD will flush each home’s water service line. If you still see discolored water after your home has been flushed, please run an inside fixture for a few minutes, and if it does not clear, call us at the number below.

If you have any questions or experience complete water loss, please call Customer Service at 360-779-7656.

Thank you for your patience as we work to bring the filtration system online.
