Water Utility Billing Update and Information
April 20, 2020Kitsap PUD has suspended all tasks that aren't immediately essential to maintaining utility services to our community. One of the tasks that has been suspended is
water meter reading. Water meters will not be read during the months of April and May. During this time, customer's water bills will not include water usage.
When we resume meter reading in June and July, we will bill all of the water used from the time the account's water meter was last read. This will be for approximately
four months of water use instead of the normal two months. Please click to read more in this pdf:

Department of Health Guidance on Reopening Facilities
May 7, 2020With the current Coronavirus crisis, schools and other institutions have shut down operations. While this has certainly helped control the spread of the virus, care must be
taken when reopening these facilities. Water that sits stagnant for extended periods of time in these buildings can lose chlorine disinfectant residual. This can result in
bacteria growth, including Legionella, the bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease. Washington Department of Health has posted materials on how to manage these shut-downs
and, more importantly, steps to take in order to ensure a safe reopening once we return to more normal operations. KPUD has directed school districts within our service area
to these guidance documents. Please click to read more in this pdf:
