Today, the Kitsap Public Utility District (KPUD) Board of Commissioners announced an official Notice of Vacancy for filling the District #2 Commissioner position on the Board. Based on the January 9, 2025, Notice of Potential Vacancy and Call for Applicants, the Board nominated two applicants for consideration Stacey Smith and Joel Purdy at today’s meeting. The Board’s action declaring the Notice of Vacancy now provides a 15-day notice of nominees, and serves as an open period for registered voters in Kitsap County to nominate additional names for consideration. After the 15-day notice ends, the remaining two commissioners may appointment an individual from a list of candidates.
Nominations will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, and should be sent via email to the KPUD Clerk of the Board at clerkoftheboard@kpud.org. Nominees are required to submit a completed application available on the KPUD website. Applicants who do not have access to complete the form electronically, can secure a hard copy at the KPUD Administrative Offices located at 1431 NW Finn Hill Road in Poulsbo, WA.
KPUD provides vital water, wastewater, and broadband services across Kitsap County. The Board focuses on policy and oversight, including budget approval, rate setting, and strategic planning for growing community needs.
