After 12 years of dedicated service, KPUD Commissioner Jim Civilla made the decision to retire from his role as District 2 Commissioner with his last day being February 25, 2025. First appointed to the Board in 2012, and later elected by the community for two consecutive terms, Commissioner Civilla has been a vital part of the KPUD Board, contributing to many key decisions and initiatives that have helped shape the future of Kitsap Public Utility District and utilities throughout the county and state.
During his tenure, Commissioner Civilla built a legacy of commitment to public service, working tirelessly to address key issues such as regional water infrastructure, broadband expansion, municipal retail authority for broadband, and fair, sustainable utility rates. His leadership, coupled with a deep understanding of the needs and values of our community, has left a lasting impact on the Board's work.
At his last meeting, Commissioner Civilla expressed gratitude to the community, colleagues, and staff for their support over the years, adding that although he will miss his work at KPUD he is looking forward to time with family, especially his grandkids.
The Board and KPUD staff extend their sincere thanks to Commissioner Civilla for his years of service, wishing him well as he builds lasting memories with his family.
Commissioner Civilla will be recognized for his service during a public meeting in March.
