KPUD Board Discusses Future Public Listening Session on Electric Service
At its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the Kitsap Public Utility District Board of Commissioners expressed interest in scheduling a future public listening session focused on electric service in Kitsap County.
The purpose of the listening session would be to provide an opportunity for community members to share their thoughts, experiences, and perspectives regarding public power. KPUD does not currently provide electric service. No decisions have been made regarding whether the Board will place a ballot measure before Kitsap County voters seeking the authority for KPUD to provide electric service. The Board's intent is to first hear directly from the community.
Meeting details are being finalized. Once a date, time, and location are confirmed, KPUD will share that information through its website and official social media channels.
The Board of Commissioners values public participation and welcomes community input throughout the year. Residents are encouraged to attend the Board's regular meetings, held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. Meetings are available both in person and virtually, providing multiple opportunities for the public to observe and provide comment.
