Kitsap Public Utility District (KPUD) will begin construction on the South Bainbridge Fort Ward Intertie Project in January 2026, with work continuing through March 2026. The project includes installing approximately 1,700 feet of new water main along Fort Ward Hill Road NE, between NE Bolero Drive and NE Sunny Hill Circle.
This improvement will strengthen water system reliability and resiliency in the Fort Ward area while supporting future infrastructure needs.
Traffic Impacts:
During construction, Fort Ward Hill Road NE will be reduced to one alternating lane during weekday work hours (7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.). Flaggers will be on site to manage traffic. Minor delays should be expected.
Roadway Paving:
Final roadway paving will take place after the water main installation is complete and weather conditions allow, potentially in the spring. Paving is expected to take only a few days.
