Approximately 70% of the human body is made up of water, and its unique chemical and physical properties are essential to our survival. Without water, basic physical processes would be impossible. Water composes an environment that sustains and nurtures plants, animals and humans. This is why maintaining and preserving clean water is as important to us as it is to you, and water education and community involvement are an important part of understanding this this vital resource.
KPUD provides domestic water service to over 50,000 Kitsap County residents through the management and operation of 53 domestic water systems throughout a service area of over 400 square miles. Kitsap County public drinking water systems are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency, Washington State Office of Drinking Water, and Kitsap County Public Health District.
