Water Use Efficiency (WUE) Rule
The Washington State Legislature directed the Washington Department of Health to adopt an enforceable Water Use Efficiency Program, which became
effective on January 22, 2007. This rule states that municipal water suppliers with Group A (over 15 connections) systems must:
- Establish water use efficiency goals in a public forum
- Create a conservation plan that includes quantifiable conservation measures
- Limit system leakage to 10%
- Publish an annual performance report and submit it to the Department of Health, customers and the general public.
A public meeting to set Water Use Efficiency Goals for the 25 Group A systems owned by KPUD was held on December 11, 2013 at 5:30pm at KPUD offices: 1431 Fill Hill Road, Poulsbo, WA.
For more information visit the Washington Department of Health Drinking Water page.
Customer yearly Water Use Efficiency Reports are included in water system Customer Confidence Reports (CCRs).
